I'm in! I have room aboard for a couple of non-boaters. Great time of year to be there.

i'm in. I fished between Holden and Southport - just behind Oak Island - last week and had some good luck. Found a nice Black Drum hole.

It looks like Comfort Suites is the best deal(especially with the govt/mil rate). Eddie discovered that the rooms drop $25 a night if we go the next weekend. Not sure about everyone's availability to go then though.

There seems to be some events going on down there last weekend of Sept and first of Oct because there is little or no lodging available those weekends. I am not sure about everyone's availability further into October. Thoughts anyone?

Anyone interested in still trying to hit the coast on the weekend of the 29th, how about we meet at Capt. Jerry's(S. Reilly Rd) on Friday at 5:30. Even if you can't make that weekend but just want to get together, you are welcome. If you think you can make it, just let me know how many will be coming by Friday morning and I can call to make a reservation. I know accomodations are limited around Southport, but there may be last minute cancellations or worst case we stay a bit further away.

I can be there as long as the 5:30 time is solid. I got church at 7:30 They must have the king mackerel tournament during that time. Late Sep and Oct is when the large kings move down the the SP area to feed before they move down south. The 40lb plus smokers will be there. Live bunkers, blues and what ever else you can catch will do on a slow troll or under balloons etc. I guess we will discuss tactics and plan of action Fri. See then, tight lines in your mind. lol.

I cannot make the meeting this Friday or the trip. The end of September is a great time to fish out of Southport and I hope you all have a great time. If I can help with selection of a guide or in any other way, please feel free to give me a call. Catch em up.

It looks like the new date is October 26-28. There should be no issues with lodging. We will have 2 boats going and a handful of kayaks. Anyone else can add details if I forgot to mention something.

Cannot make that weekend. I know no weekend is perfect for everyone, and this is one of my bad weekends.

That is the weekend of the Mira Fishing Spook-Tacular at the Pechmann Center. We are going to have costume contest, door prizes, candy and fishing. It is a fund raiser for Mira USA which is the only Guide Dog foundation that provides guide dogs to kids. For those not going on the fishing trip, come on out and support us. I will need volunteer help. For those not wanting to volunteer but come enjoy the day, it is $15 if you register early - just call the Mira offices (910-944-7757). I will have flyers this weekend at the wildlife expo to give out.
